City Puts Parking Rate Hike On Ice

Local civic groups which opposed the planned rate hike were relieved to hear of its defeat. Ed Wendell, president of the Woodhaven Residents Block Association, said in an e-mail that the organization is “very happy that sanity has prevailed for now,” but observed that the city should move the rollback the parking fee to its levels in January 2009, when it cost drivers just 50 cents to park at a meter per hour.
