Ed Wendell of the Woodhaven Residents’ Block Association, who started a Save the Forest Park Carousel page on Facebook, said the news is especially exciting for local kids. “The gates that have long separated children from this wonderful and historic ride will soon be open, and we couldn’t be happier,” Wendell said.
